Planning it out

This is from a cut-out animation I made using the program of istopmotion, I used cut out animation techniques, using images from  magazines and placing them in front of a camera. Then by taking photos between each second and moving the image around when necessary, I made a animation.

Planning

Planning out sound, backgrounds, materials, props, equipment and models.

Setting

The setting will be derived from the show, the same fictional rural village of Hinamizawa.

The setting is very enclosed and tense, it had to look insignificant but intimidating, like a threat that shows itself later on, waiting amidst the darkness.

Materials

I will need paper, pencils, software to take pictures to animate, an eraser, I will manipulate drawings to make the illusion of animation. Using stop motion animation and using the software of istopmotion, I will use my drawings as cut-outs to animate.

An example of this is the animation I made above, which is also cut-out animation and was the same process.

Backgrounds

I plan to use background from the show itself, placing them behind the characters, I will use some of the external areas featured in the show to keep the authenticity.

Props

I cannot think of anything to use as a prop, I cannot list anything that comes to mind.

Sound

I will use some sounds and clips from the show, taking snippets from random episodes and placing them where they will be effective and purposeful.

Models

I will be using the drawings I make for the animation, drawing separate limbs and to combine them. I can then move all of the limbs separately and give a better sense of movement, and I won't have to start another drawing.

Equipment

I am to use pencils, pens, erasers, paper, and backgrounds on paper, that is all I need to start animating.

Why was it Chosen?

The reason I chose this was because I really wanted to see the possible outcomes of the arts award, what with it teaching you a lot of things that benefit your future.

I also chose animation because I've always been interested in it, I find it captivating, entrancing and there's some really talented shows and pieces of work out there. I've always adored animation, and that alone made me want to attempt this, what with me never having done it before.
